A little bit about us

Russ Ebert and Precision Cutting and Coring have been providing the Okanagan, Kootenays and surrounding areas with concrete cutting and scanning services since the late ’90s. First hired as a laborer with the company by the previous owner, Russ worked his way up to become a journeyman equipment operator. As new technology became available he went into a partnership with the previous owner to start Precision Radar Scanning. This new partnership enabled Precision to also offer GPR scanning to its customers instead of the previous option of calling companies from Vancouver to provide these services.

Scanning concrete to locate conduit and rebar in the slab prior to cutting or coring now became the new standard thus providing a new level of safety to the local industry. In 2008 Russ became the sole owner of Precision Cutting after the previous owner’s retirement. “I feel very strongly that my experience as a laborer, equipment operator, GPR Tech and now full owner helps me understand the business in a way that allows me to relate to it from an owner and an employee point of view. In order to provide the best service in the industry, you need to surround yourself with the best team in the industry. This means looking at all aspects of the business from an employees perspective to attract and retain the best staff. I truly believe that as hard as my staff works for me that I must work just as hard for them.”

Here to serve you

Precisions continued growth and success in the industry is due to our focus on complete customer satisfaction and our ability to offer the latest technology and service capabilities while ensuring safety as a top priority. Precision Cutting and Coring has been responsible for many “firsts” in the local industry. For example, we were one of the first concrete cutting companies in Western Canada to offer our customers GPR subsurface scanning as an additional service to scan concrete for conduit and rebar embedment prior to cutting. Also, we were the first company in BC to rely solely on high-frequency electric technology to power our equipment.

This meant our customers were no longer exposed to the possibility of a hydraulic line rupture and the resulting property and environmental impact. Most recently our investment in the latest technology has allowed us to reduce our environmental impact. Upgrading our Diesel saws and generators to Tier 4 compliance and our recent purchase of a concrete slurry press to dispose of our slurry byproduct helps us to do our part for the environment.

By constantly looking for innovative ways to better serve our customers Precision has grown to be the leading concrete cutting and GPR scanning company in the Okanagan. From hospitals to highrises to homeowners, Precision looks forward to serving our long-standing customers and forging relationships with new ones.
